Group housing
The group housing of pigs is a particularly animal-friendly way to keep pigs. With built-in feeding space dividers, the animals can be fed in groups as needed, which significantly contributes to daily animal control.

Piglet rearing
The piglets are placed in rearing compartments designed for them after weaning. There they are kept in groups and receive special rearing feed. The increased heat requirement of the piglets is regulated with special heating systems, which are equipped according to the available heating energy.

The requirements for barn construction are very high in a pigsty. In the pigsty, everything revolves around ventilation, which reduces odor emissions. The ventilation and heating in pigsties are also decisive criteria for a productive pig production. This applies to all production stages. Because controlled climate management demonstrably influences the performance and well-being of the pigs.
Good air quality and appropriate temperatures in the animal area are therefore considered the most important factors for successful pig farming, alongside the genetic potential of the pigs, appropriate feeding, and knowledgeable supervision of the pig stock. Pre-fabricated: Precast concrete parts for the pigsty
The short construction time and smooth shuttering wall surfaces are arguments for the use of precast concrete parts. The double-shell walls receive their anchorage from the connection reinforcement from the foundations and are thus self-supporting. Two precast elements are factory-connected with truss girders. The precast concrete plates serve as formwork. They already contain the insulation and the statically necessary reinforcement. The hardening of the filler concrete creates a homogeneous wall cross-section like a monolithically made reinforced concrete wall.
For the construction of your HÖRMANN pigsty, we offer you either self-supporting, double-shell walls with grout concrete or solid walls. Central aisle, U-elements as well as partition walls are 10 cm thick and withstand the compressive loads of nail plate girders.

Build pigsties cost-effectively
Nail plate girders have long proven to be a cost-effective solution for the roof structure and as a substructure for the ceilings in pigsties. Nail plate girders are truss constructions made from timber beams and struts, joined at the nodes and connected by nail plates pressed in on both sides. Another cost-effective solution is truss constructions, which are increasingly used especially in animal welfare barns. Steel-glulam constructions with eaves, roof-as-ceiling construction, and light ridges are increasingly popular in pig production.

We attach great importance to animal welfare both in housing and in the needs-based supply of piglets, breeding sows, and fattening pigs. While dry feeding was the standard in the past, nowadays it is increasingly shifting towards slurry feeding. Whether you opt for tried-and-tested dry feeding or innovative multiphase feeding doesn't matter to us. We are familiar with both feeding systems and provide you with professional advice on all questions, including dry feeding and CCM dry feeding and the associated feeding technology.
