Concrete construction as prefabricated parts or in-situ concrete
Concrete construction literally forms the foundation for a well-functioning barn. Thoughtful planning and execution are important for future success.
Support structures
For the support structure of your barn, we at HÖRMANN rely on our proven steel-glulam construction with steel supports and glulam upper chords. A cost-effective variant would be the glulam-glulam construction. Here, the exterior supports and upper chords (or the entire truss structure) are made of glulam. A purely steel construction is of course also possible. Other variants would be the completely free-standing construction in the mentioned combinations of steel-glulam, glulam-glulam, and steel-steel. Depending on snow load, span, and other structural requirements, the support structures can be made slimmer and more economical through tension bands. Our field service advises you on this on-site in coordination with our in-house design offices.
A distinctive detail of the HÖRMANN construction method is the mortised gable construction. The wooden gable consists of sills, beams, braces, and supports whose connections are achieved by proven carpentry techniques with tenons and mortise holes. At HÖRMANN, this is done in the factory using our modern production facilities.
For binder-less constructions, we rely on cantilevered supports with purlin beams and self-supporting trapezoidal sheet metal roofs. The supports are recessed into simple point foundations and can thus realize axis distances of over 12 m.
Roof constructions
For the roofing of your barn, you can choose between roof tiles with visible timbering, corrugated fiber cement panels, trapezoidal sheet metal, or sandwich panels in various execution options. It's also possible to equip your roof with our in-roof photovoltaics.
Additionally, we have various options for purlins. Depending on the material (steel or wood), we favor coupling purlins or insert purlins. The coupling purlins allow for a smaller wood cross-section due to overlapping and are thus an economical construction. Insert purlins with dovetail connections are very visually appealing, as no metal parts are visible as connecting means. Depending on the combined roofing, this can reduce or even prevent unwanted nesting spots under the roof.
Wall constructions
The exterior walls present your barn. As wall constructions, both wall beams with board-and-batten cladding, sandwich or trapezoidal sheet metal cladding, as well as solid wood log walls (log cabin walls) are possible. Your requirements regarding appearance, maintenance, and price determine the execution.
Light-luft ridges
Optimal light conditions and the best air circulation are important prerequisites for cow comfort and animal health. Therefore, HÖRMANN offers various light-air ridges for every need and requirement. We are happy to advise you on this.
Side ventilations
Generous ventilation of the stable building through adjustable side ventilations supports the species-appropriate husbandry of livestock. HÖRMANN offers different variants of side ventilations. For smaller opening heights, light strips are the right choice. For larger opening heights, film curtains are suitable. Other variants of side inflow, but without control option, are the windbreak net, space boarding, or a perforated metal wall cladding.
Doors and gates
In stable construction, doors and gates play a more important role than initially thought. They are the entrance to the barn building. Here, quality and functionality are especially important. Particularly in the barn area, doors and gates must be durable and robust. Therefore, they are often used with galvanized steel frames in stables. These are developed and produced by HÖRMANN at our company headquarters in Allgäu, tailored to your new and renovation barn projects. This way, you get tailored doors and gates for your barn, technically fully equipped and of high quality.
We offer you in various versions:
-
Wing doors/wing gates/sliding gates –
from own production -
Sectional doors/roller doors/foil doors
