Storage canopies
What are the advantages of storage canopies with photovoltaics?
It doesn't always have to be an entirely new storage hall. A storage canopy can quickly and cost-effectively expand a storage area. Existing paved areas can also be covered without large-scale interventions through an intelligent foundation concept. A storage area canopy without wall cladding primarily protects stored goods from weather influences.
HÖRMANN offers various canopy systems for storage canopies.
Combined with a photovoltaic system on the roof, such a canopy offers the ideal dual benefit: weather protection and sustainable electricity generation.
- Profit from dual use
- Energy self-sufficient
- Cost-effective alternative to building halls
- Weather protection for stored goods
- No need to clear storage in winter
- Existing yard pavements remain intact through intelligent foundation
Turn your storage area canopy with photovoltaics into a solar power plant
With a view to climate protection, energy transition, and rising energy costs, a roofing with photovoltaics is highly recommended. In addition to the classic rooftop solar system, you can also choose the modern and innovative in-roof solar system for your canopy. Unwelcome electricity price increases become a thing of the past with such a solar roof. With an additional HÖRMANN storage system, you can use the self-generated electricity at night and during a power outage.
Storage canopy with solar as effective weather protection
Already sealed ground surfaces can be ecologically utilized with a storage area canopy with photovoltaics. You benefit from multiple uses with a storage with a solar roof. Whether as an industrial canopy for goods in the commercial sector or as a silo canopy in agriculture, there are many different applications for this lucrative canopy combination. The principle, however, is always the same: your stored materials remain dry and secure while you let the sun work for you, doing something good for the environment at the same time!
A building permit is usually required for a storage area canopy, as it, like a storage hall, is considered a building structure.
This depends on the individual federal states, counties, and municipalities. A blanket statement is not possible. Sometimes a drainage system is required, e.g., an infiltration trench, while surface drainage over the area is also prescribed in other cases. Therefore, this point can only be answered with a preliminary building inquiry to the relevant authority.
There are many different possibilities. The most well-known is a foundation with classical concrete foundations. However, this requires a significant portion of any existing storage area to be torn up again. Therefore, at HÖRMANN, we have also intensively worked on minimally invasive foundation possibilities. These are, however, heavily dependent on the soil conditions. We are happy to advise you on this.
